Ah, another supermarket survey! Sometimes, I think that supermarket chains actually want to please their customers. But then I remember money, and I forget all that. However, supermarket chain BI-LO does seem to have quite a few offers that would please its customers. And with its new BI-LO Survey available at www.bi-losurvey.com, its management is trying to see just how successful they’ve been.
If you’re a regular BI-LO shopper – which I’m guessing you are – then you’ll be glad to know that the only thing that you really need in order to complete their survey is a receipt from one of their stores. Obviously, you will need to have purchased something recent from their locations. However, one or more purchases will not increase your chances of winning, no matter how much money you chose to spend in the supermarket.
You’re probably wondering now: what is winning? Oh, the lengths a company will go to in order to please their customers! By completing the BI-LO Survey you will automatically join into sweepstakes! This contest resets every month and has as a grand prize a BI-LO monthly gift card totaling $450 – a sum of money that you can spend in any store. Any BI-LO store, that is.

BI-LO History
As a company that started out from a man called Outlaw, you’d think that its business was illegitimate, dishonest, or maybe even illegal. Rest assured, the company’s history amounts to nothing of the sort. In fact, back in 1961, after a lifetime of being called an outlaw, Frank Outlaw decided he would start his own, honest business, which he would run through dedication, hard work, and plain honesty.
It was initially called Wrenn & Outlaw, after the owner’s name, but two years later, Frank decided that it was about time they became a true brand. So, naturally, what he did was organize a small contest amongst the company’s employees to come up with cool-sounding, memorable, and interesting names to make sure that their customers wouldn’t forget what they were called.
Obviously, it was the time of the brand fever, and companies all over were looking for catchy names, catchy slogans, or catchy songs to go along with their ads. And Wrenn & Outlaw was successful in finding these. After considering many submissions, Frank Outlaw came to decide upon the name BI-LO, which had been submitted by his secretary. Although it is nowhere explained, it probably is an acronym for “buy low” – which can be pronounced as “bi lo” in the southern accent.
BI-LO Growth
As if a company from the South owned by a man named Outlaw wasn’t something normal, the name change proved quite a successful move. By 1977, the company became so successful that its fame went all the way across the Atlantic to the Netherlands. There, Dutch company Ahold proceeded in purchasing the American supermarket chain – another move that turned out a lot of profit.
By 2003, BI-LO began expanding by opening large supermarket store concepts called Super BI-LOs. In 2005, Ahold sold BI-LO to Lone Star Funds – which still owns it to this day. In 2009, the company was, like many others, struck hard by the recession and the credit crisis. It filed for bankruptcy and by 2010, after a plan protected by the US Bankruptcy court, BI-LO emerged successful.

BI-LO Survey Tips & Rewards
As we’ve previously said here, the rewards you’re in for if you complete the BI-LO Survey aren’t that many. In fact, it’s only one. A monthly gift card that amounts to $450. You can use BI-LO gift cards in any location of all their 186 supermarkets.
Some websites also claim that you can win a BI-LO Gas Card by completing the survey. This isn’t true.
Certainly, not all BI-LO customers have English as their first language. The company understands this and has therefore also made available a version of their survey in Spanish. To see how to take this version of the survey, go to the ‘how to section’ down below.
Also, to be eligible for the survey, you also need to be over the legal age of 21.
BI-LO Survey Requirements
In order to be able to take, complete the survey, and enter the sweepstakes, you need to have two things.
First of all, they will require you to have a stable and secure internet connection linked with a working computer – either a PC or a Mac. If you would prefer to have it on a mobile device, you can of course do this. Just access the survey address from your device’s browser.
Secondly, you also need to possess a receipt from your most recent store visit to one of BI-LO’s 186 locations spread throughout the US.
Don’t forget that if you would like to enter the sweepstakes, you need to have all your data in check, and a secure connection to the web, to prevent your data from being phished.
BI-LO Survey Steps
- Go to bi-losurvey.com. Once there you will be greeted by a welcome message.
- Select your language. To the bottom-right corner of the webpage, there should be a blue link reading Español. Click it if you like Spanish!
- Enter the code on your receipt. There should be a code of 18-digits on your receipt. Enter it into the three fields on the website. Here’s how it should look:
- Answer all the questions. Respond to all the queries by the company survey. Be careful with your answers and have patience as the survey is quite extensive.
- Enter your personal details. After you’ve truthfully answered all of the questions, they will prompt you to enter your personal data so that the company may easily reach you in the event of you being the winner.
- You’ve successfully completed the bi-losurvey.com survey.
