Types of Information Collected at HappyCustomersReview
Like all website, HappyCustomersReview collect some information from their readers. There are two main types of information we will collect. The categories are defined by how sensitive the information is. Thus, you can generally distinguish between two types of information: personally identfiable information (PII) and non-personally identifiable information (NPII). Each category will be discussed separately below.
As a rule, we only collect information from our users when we believe it is necessary, both in terms of PII and NPII.
Personally Identifiable Information (PII) – What it is and how we use it
Personally Identifiable Information, or PII, is the most sensitive category of information on the internet. It is the type that can be used to identify you and distinguish you as an individual.
Examples of PII include: full name, home address, work address, phone number, email, medical history, SSN or date of birth.
Because it is so sensitive, at HappyCustomersReview, we limit the amount of PII we collect from our users. We never collect PII without our users knowledge and clear consent.
We will only ask for your name and email address, only when you leave a comment on our website, or send us a message, either through our contact form, or via our contact email. This information helps us reply to your message and know who we are talking to. If you are not comfortable sending us your name, you can use an alias when filling out the contact form or when leaving a comment on an article.
We will never share this information with third-parties, unless we are required to so by law or upon request from an appropriate legal authority.
Important! Please keep in mind that the comments section of each article is public. This means any user accessing the article will be able to view the comments. Comments need to be approved by the HappyCustomersReview team before they are made public. We will generally delete any personal information within a comment, or delete the entire comment, if it contains personal information. However, we strongly recommend you do not include personal information in your comments.
Any user who wishes to have their PII removed from our website can send their request at email@example.com. Our team will remove any and all PII related to that user from the website within 30 days of receiving the request.
Non-Personally Identifiable Information – What it is and how we use it
Non-Personally Identifiable Information (NPII) is information which cannot be used to distinguish you as an individual. Websites usually collect three types of NPII: NPII necessary for website functioning, statistical NPII and marketing NPII.
Functional NPII typically includes information about the hardware and software a user employ to access a website, such as operating system, device or browser type. This information allows the website to display content correctly, and optimize for the user’s specs.
Statistical NPII is used be website administrators to asses how well the website is going in terms of content, design and functionality. Statistical NPII includes information about the types of users that access the website, which articles they read, how long they spend reading an article, and when they prefer accessing a website. No PII is recorded in connection with this information.
Marketing NPII. Like many websites, HappyCustomersReview features targeted ads. To deliver targeted ads, marketers receive information about the users of a website, such as their search history, topic preferences, and current interests. This allows these third-party ad providers to display ads that may contain products, services or information relevant to the reader. As in the previous case, HappyCustomersReview does not record any PII to send to marketers. We only collect general information about users’ browsing preferences and habits.
